Dogs e mails!!

E-mail Print PDF

I wonder how many Dog Owners are conscious of the importance of the 'Messaging System 'which is natural and essential for the Health and Emotional Wellbeing of their Dog!!

Have you ever observed Owners out walking with their Dogs?? Have you observed yourself!!!! Do you/ they stop for a few seconds everytime the Dog wants to sniff and do a pee ?? Do you/ they realise that a Dog is ' reading an E Mail' each time and then leaving a reply?? or are they rushing along getting impatient and pulling sharply on the lead thus jerking the Dog away by the neck?

MIA and Separation Anxiety

E-mail Print PDF

Mia is now 1 year old. She was for sale in a petshop at a ridiculous price and described as a ' Teacup Chihuahua'!! I hope you can get my vibes of utter distaste!!

Some people bought her in place of a ' pure bred' Chihuahua who had died within three days of the purchase. Mia was meant to replace their loss although she is not pure Chihuahua but the petshop carried a ' guarantee'!!

Psychological Abuse

E-mail Print PDF

I have recently come across a number of cases of Dogs who cry when their Owners are out of the house. It's quite pitiful and very sad to hear these poor animals really suffering a feeling of abyssmal loneliness and unable to cope with it. We have several examples around here where  Nanette and I live.

This condition is well known by Vets but who can only offer drugs ....which need to be ongoing......as a 'stop gap'.

Owners respond in different ways. There's the person who shouts and screams at his Dog!!. Another Owner will administer physical punishment!! For what??? for being terribly sad? for being afraid at being alone??  Then slightly better, the Owner who goes to the Vet for a solution and gets toxic drugs for their pet, which subdues symptoms but does nothing to heal the condition.

Collars again!!!!

E-mail Print PDF

Again today, I met a charming couple who have a beautiful gentle German Shepherd. She came and sat on my feet!! I find dogs often do this, maybe they recognise my canine qualities!!

As is my custom, I was gently caressing this lovely animal. I felt the collar without really thinking and noticed she had the horrible toxic white collar which is used here against a killer disease...Leishmaniose. By October, it's redundant and as I pointed it out, the owner removed it. BUT the ' normal ' collar was on the tight side. I asked if I could loosen it....no problem.

A classic!!

E-mail Print PDF

I withnessed ' a Classic' last evening. I took Nanette out as usual for our walk at about 4 and afterwards made for the Pub to have a glass of wine before returning home .

As we approached our table, a young Dog on our left was making a hell of a fuss, crying hysterically and trying to reach Nanette for a chat. The woman ( his owner ) was holding the younster back on a tight shortened lead and slapping the poor animal over the face.!! This was too much for me....... ' Madame arret!!!! ....

I knew it would happen one day!!

E-mail Print PDF

I knew it would happen one day!! and today was the day..... Nanette and I went out as usual at about 7.45am for her favourite walk of the day...(.Hunting Dogs function best very early, as the Hunt usually takes place in the early hours.).

We went through the gates, crossed the road and made for the little Park. As we entered, I detached her and off she went as usual. We have a mutual agreement to meet 3 levels higher just in front of the exit Gates the other side....she disappears and rushes around through bushes, into hedges and round trees attending to her own business and interests......mainly looking for more to eat!! even though she had just downed a raw egg and steamed veg plus a few biscuits before we came out, but then again that is natural for a Hunting Dog.
